Primary, Community and Social Care Research

Our research benefits from patient and public engagement and is designed to improve the content, delivery and configuration for the benefit of patients with musculoskeletal conditions, mental health problems and other long-term conditions. It is also supported by the University’s flagship Institute of Global Health, the Impact Accelerator Unit and the Clinical Trials Unit.
Our research excellence has been recognised through the award of the 'Queen's Anniversary Prize', as a 'Primary Care Centre Versus Arthritis', as a 'European League Against Rheumatism Centre of Excellence', and through its membership of the prestigious NIHR School for Primary Care Research. In 2014, the Research Excellence Framework ranked our research as joint first for its impact, with 91% of our research being assessed as world-leading or internationally excellent.
