I am currently completing my doctorate with a focus on education. I am particularly interested in the effectiveness of curricula. My doctorate focuses on the professional identity of newly qualified nurses. My main areas of interest are education, mentorship and curriculum development.
As the School Examinations and Assessment Lead my responsibilities include chairing a number of committees and groups within the school and acting as a representative for the school on a number of forums within the university. I am also an External Examiner for another University in the South Midlands.
I teach on a range of subjects to students in all years of the pre-registration nursing degree. I am also the programme lead for the mentorship course and teach the face-to-face version of this.
I am the Link Lecturer for a number of surgical areas within a local Acute Trust that works closely with the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
