Wood Ian

Ian’s teaching and learning activities focus on assessment of acutely ill patients, acute care nursing, mentorship and on the development of learning through simulation. He is currently Professional Lead for the School’s pre-registration BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing programme. He also developed and leads the School’s online Mentorship module which runs twice a year in September and April.

Ian's clinical background is in Emergency Nursing and, in this context, he has worked in Emergency Departments in Manchester, Leicester and Stoke on Trent. In 2012, Ian co-edited a book entitled Initial Management of Acute Medical Patients: A Guide for Nurses and Healthcare Practitioners published by Wiley-Blackwell.
