Biography

RGN. Dip N. MsC Clinical Leadership.  PG cert TLHE. NMC registered teacher. Fellow HEA  

Jane completed her RGN training in 1980 at the North Staffordshire College of Nursing & Midwifery and worked as a ward sister across North Staffordshire in Elderly care services in acute, rehabilitation and continuing care settings.

In 1995 she joined the community Continence Advisory Service and developed her role as Continence Advisor, to Nurse Specialist, Clinical Lead and finally Service Manager. 

During her time there she successfully bid for monies from the regional Education Consortium to develop and deliver teaching workshops on Digital Rectal Examination to all community staff in North Staffordshire.

Jane worked in partnership with colleagues in the school of nursing throughout her clinical career to develop and deliver the ENB Continence Care programme; and since leaving the NHS in 2014 has been able to further develop her passion for teaching & learning as a Teaching Fellow in Adult nursing - delivering education to pre and post registration graduates. 

Jane was appointed a committee member for the Royal Collage of Nursing Bladder & Bowel Care Forum in 2017 and has led the review of the Management of Lower Bowel Care guidance for Nurses [RCN 2019]
