3rd Annual Meeting of the GEN International Network

On Monday, Dr Patricia Owen, DUP from the School of Nursing and Midwifery, welcomed colleagues to Keele from the GEN International Network for their annual meeting. The GEN Network (http://www.genintnetwork.org/) consists of academics, students and alumni, that have an interest in or offer graduate entry nursing programmes. The network includes colleagues from across the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the US, and  aims to collaborate to share research, evaluation and innovative teaching practice.

Dr Owen welcomed colleagues and showcased work around Developing Critical Scholarly Skills in Graduate Entry Nursing programmes. Dr Nita Muir from the University of Brighton led a workshop from her research around ‘Growing Influence and Impact’ and Stacey Johnson, Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham shared her work around ‘Enhancing Leadership Capabilities in GEN Students and Alumni’.

There were great opportunities for further discussion and networking and feedback about the day identified that members found it informative, supportive and enjoyable.
