International visitors from Wuhan University of Science and Technology, China

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences hosted a visit of academics from Wuhan University of Science and Technology, China, on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st October.

The four visitors (Professor Changcai Zhu, Vice Dean of the Medical College. Professor Zhu has personal research interests in occupational health but is also leads research across the Medical College; Associate Professor Zhenzhong GUO Deputy Director of Provincial Key Lab, Assoc. Prof GUO has research interests in analytical biotechnology; Associate Professor Dan Liu has Research interests in neuroscience; and Xiaolu Cao Senior experimentalist) heard presentations from across the School and RIs on the Tuesday, and then selected to visit a number of Schools and RIs for further exploration on the Wednesday.

They visited the School of Nursing and Midwifery on the Wednesday, where they were particularly keen to tour the simulation suits. Whilst on the visit, they met a number of staff, and mental health students. Professor Sue Read, School Director on Internationalisation, ‘They were very interested in simulation education, and also in programmes around end of life and palliative care. They of course admired the CEC and we are hopeful that we will continue the conversations around international educational opportunities and staff and student exchanges’.
