This module will enable healthcare professionals to develop a person-centred approach in supporting people with dementia in relation to recognition of symptoms, identifying potential barriers to communication, supporting strategies to effectively  promote physical health and inclusion and managing co-morbid physical illness and cognitive impairment.

  • Recognition of symptoms and principles of dementia assessment
  • Identifying and overcoming barriers to communication
  • Identifying strategies to improve effective care delivery in the context of co-morbid physical illness and polypharmacy
