Virtual Campus Construction Begins

Construction started this week on the Virtual Keele campus within the Second Life virtual world. Virtual Keele is being funded centrally and developed over the summer by Dr Stuart Thomason in the School of Computing & Mathematics. Our virtual campus will be a complete interactive 3D model of the academic and social spaces bordered by the ring road, and will include bookable areas for teaching and research. Find out more about the project and sign up for a free Second Life avatar at

The picture shows Dr Thomason laying the foundation block for the central concourse in front of the Chapel.

This area will be used for virtual visit days, clearing and other recruitment activities over the coming months.
