Study design
Interviews were carried out with 43 people across England, Scotland and Wales who had gout. The interviews were video and/or audio recorded and key themes were written up as summaries to create a new section on healthtalk.org. The new gout website section was launched on 14th May 2014. The website includes a range of information about gout and its treatment, including video clips of real life stories about living with gout. It provides information for people with gout as well as their families and friends, and for health professionals involved in the care of people with gout.
Primary objective
The aim of this study was to enhance understanding of people’s experiences of living with gout, and to provide a section on healthtalk.org as an online resource for those who wish to find out more about gout. Academic journal articles and other publications have also been produced.
