Study design

This cross-sectional study uses a self-complete questionnaire to investigate the health care processes before and after Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) diagnosis in primary care patients and the impact of GCA on their current health status outcomes.

Study participants are aged 50 years or older and have been diagnosed with GCA within the last three years. Participants will be recruited from over 200 research active general practices from across the West Midlands.

Primary objective

To improve our understanding of the problems associated with making a timely and accurate diagnosis of GCA in primary care, providing new insights to help to reduce the time to treatment.
