Study design
Population based prospective cohort study.
Primary objective
1) To investigate long-term patterns of progression, stability, and recovery of hand pain and functional limitations in a population sample of older people with hand pain / osteoarthritis.
2) To develop predictive or potential causal models based on the dynamic relationship between symptoms and key time-independent and time-independent determinants.
3) To derive practical definitions of hand OA phenotypes for clinical application.
