Writing with Authority: Referencing and Paraphrasing 5 November
Writing with Authority: Referencing and Paraphrasing
Being able to build up a sense of authority in your work is an important way of getting people to listen to things you have to say: writing that doesn’t have authority is easily dismissed as mere opinion.
Join the Academic Skills team for a seminar on how to best build a sense of authority in your written work. By attending, you will learn why paraphrasing is so useful, how to incorporate references into your work, and what ‘reasoned discourse’ is.
5 November 2025, 1:00pm-2:00pm
