Due to the impact of COVID-19 the Campus and Health Libraries remain closed for the foreseeable future.
The Library has suspended all requests, so your books should continue to automatically renew for you. If you have any books with outstanding requests on them, please be assured that you will not be fined for these items in these extraordinary circumstances. You are not expected to return books at this time as only essential outings should be undertaken as outlined by the Government.
Unfortunately, staff do not currently have access to the Campus or Health Libraries. Please check ‘Library Search’ to see if we have an e-book of the item you require.
If we do not have an e-book, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to check if it can be purchased if available.
The Inter Library Loans service is currently closed so we are unable to obtain articles and books from other Libraries for you.
As the Library is currently closed, we are unable to carry out any shelf checks for items that are on your account. These items will need to remain on your account for now, but please be assured that if you notify us when we reopen, we will be able to check this for you and you won’t be charged for anything that is located.
At the moment we are bound by Government restrictions and so remain closed for the forseeable future. The University will continue to monitor the situation and will make any decisions based on restrictions being relaxed by the Government.

At present, the feature to request items in Library Search has been turned off. This is to ensure that automatic renewals continue to work and no one receives notifications to return books while we are closed.
In the current situation, we would advise against any unnecessary travel. However, as you are returning home we would consider it advisable to return the items. There is a book return bin next to the accessible entrance of the Library, which is located on the far left of the building.
Any items returned to this bin will not be removed from your account until the Library re-opens but it will be emptied regularly and stored securely.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and government-enforced restrictions on travel, the Campus Library remains closed.
However we are aware that our students often use computers within the Library building to access software and services for their course, which they are now unable to access.
We have been working with colleagues in University IT to set up a method by which our students will be able to access our PCs remotely, and this is now available.
The method of accessing the Library PCs is slightly different dependent on if you’re using a Windows PC or a Mac, so please see below for links to the relevant how-to guide for you.
