Martina Wallner has been the Head of the Language Centre since its creation in 2010. She holds overall responsibility for the Language Centre's academic offer and for strategic planning, budget setting and line-management within the Language Centre. She also teaches German language.
Martina joined Keele in 1991 and has held a number of teaching and administrative roles in the University before commencing her current post. Martina has extensive experience in designing, delivering and managing language learning and teaching at all levels. She worked as a consultant for the TDA (Training and Development Agency for Schools) and for the Goethe Institute. Prior to starting at Keele, Martina taught German and English as a foreign language in the secondary and further education sectors in Austria and the UK.
Martina has a Mag. Phil and a teaching degree in German and English from Salzburg University, Austria, and an MA in German Language Education (Distinction) from Keele University. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
