Keele University - School of Law - Undergraduate Student Experiences
"Keele is the right size campus – not too large, not too small. It gives you the opportunity to engage with the lecturers. The size of the law school gives you the opportunity to go into a lot of competitions, like mooting and client interviewing. With mooting there is a chance to go the Supreme Court. Not only do you come away with the academic side of things but a collection of skills you put together and general it’s a pleasure to be on the course. "
"In my second year at Keele, I was involved in competitions like the mooting competition and client interviewing at the regional and national levels. We have practitioners and staff who are willing to help students to train them. These skills we learn from the competitions are valuable in a legal career but also in life more generally regardless of what path you go for. "
"Last year I had the opportunity to get to the (mooting) final and the final was held at the Supreme Court before Lord Hodge and this is an opportunity that is quite unique to Keele, not every University offers this opportunity….. it was an incredible opportunity and very nerve racking but it is something I have been able to talk about on nearly every application I have sent……a real topic of conversation for me."
"First Law Fair was last year, I didn’t know what to expect. Personally I want to do Sports Law but there wasn’t any firms that had a department but I got talking to some firms and was honest about what I was interested in. A few months later, I was contacted by one of the firms, hoping to start their own department and wanted me to be involved in the process."
"I love the dynamics of the course, I love the variation they can offer. The tutors are fantastic. I was lucky enough to be elected President of the Barristers Society and along with the (Keele) Law Society, we put on a fantastic Legal Dining Event… Alumni come back and have the opportunity to offer us something hopefully that we can offer back to Keele students in the future.
