Japan Foundation Fellowship for Dr Mohammad Shahabuddin

Dr. Shahabuddin has been awarded the Japan Foundation Fellowship for a fieldwork in Japan. During his visit, he will work on Japan's role in the League of Nations. He is specifically interested in the discourses on 'racial equality' (against the background of Yellow Peril highlighted in the Paris Conference and subsequent activities of the League) and the concept of 'pan-Asianism' in relation to Article 22 of the Leave Covenant and the Monroe Doctrine.
