Dr Jane Krishnadas, and the Keele University CLOCK Team have been selected as a Finalist for the Public Engagement and Advocacy Award.
CLOCK (Community Legal Outreach Collaboration, Keele) is a research-led collaborative model for Access to Justice, bringing together courts, voluntary groups and legal companies to train Law Students to be community legal companions who are able to assist individuals in their interactions with court, and create alternative pathways for Access to Justice.
Since reaching the final short-list for the of the ARMA Awards in 2015, CLOCK has been further supported by the Keele Research Management Team to create a step change in inter-University collaboration for research based public policy engagement and advocacy at the national and international level, through the UKIERI ‘Research Innovations in Social and Legal Methodologies, and the Social Innovation for ‘Scale and Growth’ SeeChange, UnLtd/Hefce . This step change has been prompted by the increasing public demand for access to justice.
Dr Jane Krishnadas highlights ‘This award reflects the importance of the Keele Research Team to create a secure and supportive environment for academics to create concepts and innovate to enhance public engagement and advocacy at the National and international level’.
