8 Law staff receive nominations for Student Choice Awards 2019

Student Choice Awards 2019

The Student Choice Awards are a recognition of staff contribution to the student experience and they identify excellence for specific areas of practice.

The School of Law had 8 nominations at this years awards, Sally WhelanKirsty Moreton, Catherine EdwardsMichael Fay, Eliza Varney, Awol Allo, Sotirios Santatzoglou and Mario Prost.

Sally's nomination was for the 'Most Engaging Educator' and received the following feedback from the student that nominated her:

"Sally is an invaluable asset to the law department at Keele. Sally is not only an exceptional teacher, but she acknowledges when one needs support on a personal level. This makes learning a lot easier and more enjoyable when you know that there is a consistent support network available. Sally knows exactly how to adapt her teaching to your learning and will go above and beyond to aid your success."

Kirsty was nominated for the 'Extra Mile' award and received the following feedback from the student that nominated her:

"...Kirsty stepped into the supervisory capacity despite the fact that this was at a very late stage - final chapter was being written. It was a difficult stage to pick up, there were many errors that she would probably have corrected had she seen it at an earlier stage. Despite this, she was always encouraging and empathetic, and she put in many hours work getting my final draft corrected within a shrinking time frame....She went the extra mile to help a student she barely knew...."

Congratulations on your nominations Sally, Kirsty, Catherine, Michael, Eliza, Awol, Sotirios and Mario.
