2019 International Law Seminar in Geneva, Switzerland.

Marieanne Oludhe attended the 2019 International Law Seminar in Geneva, Switzerland.

The International Law Seminar takes place on an annual basis and is designed for postgraduate students in international law, young scholars, government officials as well as young lawyers in the field of international law, to widen their knowledge of both the work of the International Law Commission and of the codification and progressive development of international law. It also provides an opportunity for lawyers coming from different legal systems and cultures to exchange views regarding items on the agenda of the Commission.

"After spending three weeks at the heart of the International Law Commission, I have learned about the process of submission of draft texts from the Commission to the UN General Assembly for their approval, the dynamics between the plenary sessions and the Drafting Committee, and the criteria for the selection of new topics, among many other things."
