Can digital project diaries enhance the student experience of final year research projects?

Project leaders: Mike Edwards & Daryl Kerr

Final year research projects are a keystone of most undergraduate degrees. For Keele chemists, the research project is captured in a detailed paper diary which records the students’ observations, results, reflections, supervisor interactions, and literature background. This project will investigate whether these project diaries can be successfully migrated from paper to digital format, and the extent to which this can improve the student experience of research projects through increased engagement and interaction with their supervisor.
