Developing Student and Staff Assessment Feedback Literacies through the use of Electronic Reflective Feedback Diaries

Project leaders: Dave McGarvey & Kizzy Beaumont (plus 4 other team members)

The impact of assessment feedback on student learning in higher education is highly variable and often unknown, and this is reflected in long-standing student and staff dissatisfaction with feedback across the sector. Recent research on feedback focuses on the concept of ‘feedback literacy’ and how its development in students and staff is central to enhancing the impact of feedback. The aim of this project is to develop student and staff feedback literacies across disciplines through the design, implementation and evaluation of reflective electronic assessment feedback diaries, informed by the DEFT (Developing Engagement with Feedback Toolkit) approach (Winstone and Nash (2016).
