Student Knowledge Exchange Internships
KIITE have successfully secured funding for 200 student internships across the University!
The Student Knowledge Exchange Project (SKE) aims to bring another 200 internships in a variety of industries to Keele over the next 2 years.
Funded by the Office for Students, the idea is that you (the students/recent graduates) will get the opportunity to gain work experience through a micro-internship and in return can receive a bursary of £500!
If you hadn’t noticed, the current normal is made up of a lot of Teaming and Zooming and so these opportunities will (for the mean time) come in the form of virtual internships. Designed to be flexible and work around your academic timetable, the base of the experience will be made up of 55 hours, spread across 6 – 10 weeks (this would be 6 – 9hours a week!).
In a current climate where businesses have reduced their internships and placements by 31% (Rate My Placement, 2020), we are thrilled to be offering you the opportunity to get involved and obtain some crucial work experience.
If you are interested in gaining some work experience then sign up to the Keele Talent Pool and check Career Hub and the Keele Internships page weekly. We will either be role matching applicants to the position through Keele Talent Pool (where you’ll still be required to submit an application form as normal) or will be listing the opportunities on Career Hub.
If you are concerned about the suitability/reliability of your IT equipment in undertaking an internship, there may be laptops available to loan. Please contact us to find out more.
Alternatively, if you’re passionate about a particular subject or have an entrepreneur mentality, the Enterprise workshops and start up funding may be the break you need to lift your idea off the ground!
