Adrian is a Fellow of KIITE, and Lecturer in Learning Technology / Lead for Software Development in the School of Medicine.

His primary interests are in the application of technology to assessment and feedback. He has pioneered the introduction and use of assessment analytics into the School of Medicine, leading to summative assessments becoming formative learning experiences. He developed one of the first tablet-based systems for marking practical examination performance and a web-based interactive Feedback Portal for students. These allow the timely collection and dissemination of rich, personalised attainment metrics and one-to-one feedback for every student.

Adrian began his career as a teacher of Science and IT, then moved into the software industry to work on early data mining projects in areas as diverse as prescribing trends analysis and train planning. In recent years he has drawn this experience together within the field of Medical Education to help drive forward students’ insight into their assessment performance.

He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), a certified PRINCE2 project manager and also holds professional software development certifications.
