Lou joined Keele University in February 2017 and has worked in various roles in Higher Education in the past two decades. 

As Head of Apprenticeships and Experiential Learning, Lou leads the Apprenticeship Team and plays a key part in the University’s development of curriculum based activities related to industry and employment, including placement learning. Lou heads up the development of new curriculum opportunities as part of the team and is able to support academics and employers interested in creating apprenticeship provision.

A Senior Fellow of the HEA she has worked on a varied portfolio of Higher Education projects encompassing blended and e-learning, Curriculum Innovation, Student Finance and Widening Participation. She is particularly interested in pedagogies for effective reflection and implications for the development of academic and employability skills.
She is a Fellow of Furness College, Lancaster University and a co-opted member of the Board of ASET.
