THiNK Seminar: Dr Julie Hulme

Dimensions of Scholarship

The Keele Institute for Innovation and Teaching Excellence is pleased to announce the next THiNK Seminar:

Dimensions of Scholarship

Tuesday 15th December 2020, 1-3pm
Dr Julie Hulme - Chair of THiNK and Reader (E&S) in Psychology, Keele University

This interactive webinar will explore what we mean by 'scholarship' in the context of an academic career within the UK Higher Education sector, and within the expectations of the Keele Education and Scholarship (E&S) job family.

The meaning of scholarship can be contested and can be used to refer to a whole variety of different activities, from traditional discipline-focused research, through pedagogic research, to developing teaching practices and producing open educational resources. We will adopt an inclusive approach to scholarship, invite you to reflect on what elements of your current role comprise scholarship, and how to relate them to the Keele E&S career pathway if this is relevant to you. The focus will be on practical examples, and on identifying ways to develop your scholarship in terms of your own profile and impact.

The webinar is particularly relevant to colleagues on an E&S contract, or those wishing to translate, but will also be helpful to other colleagues who are interested in the ways in which they can make a difference to education in an evidence-based way. All are welcome to join us.

This virtual seminar will take place in the KIITE - THiNK Network and Seminars Team in the channel Seminar - Dr Julie Hulme (15-Dec-2020) at the scheduled date and time. Please join our team
