Keele Unity 2015/16

Keele Unity is a programme of events which run throughout the academic year aimed at promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, throughout the Keele community. The following events will run during 2015/16 and are open to all staff, students, and the wider community;


  • LGBT History month- February 2016 - Posters were displayed for LGBT history month, with a focus on LGBT and Faith, within the HR department reception, the Chapel and throughout school noticeboards.  Keele Students Union also displayed a series of LGBT history facts on television screens across the University


  • Keele World Festival- March 2016- A week of culture, diversity, celebration and internationalisation.  Full details can be found on the Keele World Festival pages


  • International Women's Day: 8th March 2016 - Details of this year's events to celebrate International Women's Day can be found on the Keele Athena Swan pages 


  • National Carers Week- June 2016- Details of this year's events to support those working and studying at Keele with caring responsibilities can be found here Carers Week Events June 2016


The following event outcomes are envisaged for delegates attending events:

  • To be aware of the latest University policy and action around equality and diversity
  • To hear from prominent speakers on equality related topics
  • To better understand how this agenda can support staff in their job roles and work to support Keele’s diverse community
  • To have the opportunity to network with other staff, students, and visitors
  • To have the opportunity to provide feedback and shape future University activity in this area
