Biography

I am a lecturer and researcher in enterprise and innovation based in Keele Business School and I am a Senior Fellow of the HEA and Fellow of the International Enterprise Educators Programme (IEEP). I joined Keele University in 2021, prior to this I spent 6 years at Coventry University as a founder member of the International Centre for Transformational Entrepreneurship. I have a PhD and MA from the University of Warwick focused on the British TV Industry. I have over 20 years of experience in media education, sector development and business support. Previous roles include senior manager at Light House Media Centre and a SFEDI accredited business advisor. I am a member of Enterprise Educators UK Advisory Panel and I have published widely on enterprise and entrepreneurship education.

Research and scholarship

My research interests include enterprise intention, entrepreneurial identity and enterprise education I have contributed to several high-quality conferences and publications, including the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research and the Institute for Small Business Research and Entrepreneurship.

Teaching

My teaching interests include creativity and innovation, design thinking, business start-up and feasibility, networking and business relationships.

I have two PhD completions and one current student.

Collaborations and grants awards

I am currently collaborating with Plymouth Marjon University and Birmingham University on an Enterprise Educators UK funded project exploring student entrepreneurial identity using novel data collection methods.
