KBS academic and student elected to new roles at North Staffordshire and South Cheshire CIPD branch
Dr Carola Weissmeyer, Course Director of Human Resource Management undergraduate programmes, and Daniel Chadwick, a Keele Business School HRM student have been elected as ‘Student and Centres Engagement Leads’ to the Branch Committee of the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Their new roles will lead on activities including; creating long-term relationships with local CIPD education providers, encouraging students to engage with local branch events and volunteering opportunities, listening to student members to understand their interests, facilitate opportunities for students to create their own networks, forums or societies, and coordinating student recognition on behalf of the branch in a joint countrywide message and criteria.
Keele University student Daniel said about the new role "I look forward to undertaking an active role within the local CIPD branch to unite both the branch and Keele as I believe having unity between the two will benefit my fellow peers greatly.”
Dr Weissmeyer also commented “As a member of the branch committee I am looking forward to establishing a long-term relationship between Keele Business School and the local NSSC branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and help create network and event opportunities for our CIPD student members.”
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development is a professional association for human resource management and people development professionals. The North Staffordshire and South Cheshire CIPD branch has 1,400+ members.
Keele Business School provides CIPD approved courses at Intermediate level (level 5) for our undergraduate HRM courses and advanced level (level 7) for our MA HRM course.
