Spotlight on Dr David Atkinson
I am Director of Recruitment and lead a number of Keele Business School’s strategic and digital marketing modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. I come from an industrial background, having held a number of senior management roles before entering higher education, including the role of Strategic Marketing Director for an IT-managed services company. My digital and strategic consultancy experience is wide ranging, including smart building systems, plastic packaging, door handles, healthcare services, as well as debt management software.
It is my engagement with organisations which underpins my lecturing at Keele Business School. Providing students with a rich insight into the theory of marketing, from a strategic to a tactical level. My combined ability, depth of knowledge and insight has led to invitations to present at conferences around the world, including Moscow, Boston, New York and Tallinn to name just a few. As a specialist in my field I have also contributed examining and syllabus developed at the Chartered Institute of marketing. Having held the post of senior examiner representative the CIM’s level 7 Analysis and Decision unit. Due to my knowhow in both industry and higher education, I have also contributed to Pearson PLC, the world’s largest education company in assisting in driving up standards of UG and PG delivery of education.
