Biography

Following a successful clinical career in physiotherapy in the North West of England, Cath moved into the Higher Education sector taking up a post in the School of Healthcare Professions at Salford University. She moved to Keele in 2000 where she has undertaken various roles in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences including Head of the School of Health and Rehabilitation until July 2016.  During her career Cath has led service and curriculum development in a number of areas. She has a particular interest in interprofessional learning, patient centrality, professional suitability and the professional dilemmas of health and social care students. She holds a PhD, the focus of which was around patient experience and the delivery of patient centred care and retains a keen commitment to the principle of patient / service user centrality. Cath is a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered physiotherapist, member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Council of Deans for Health and British Association of Hand Therapists. She is an HCPC panel member, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and mentor and role model for the Leadership Foundation’s Aurora programme.
