ILAS Grand Challenges Programme 2019-20
With a record number of over 1000 people in attendance, across ten events, we hope you enjoyed the 2018-19 series of ILAS Grand Challenges lectures. If you missed any of these, you can view the videos on our website here.
Speakers included Professor Jenny Reardon on The Postgenomic Condition: Ethics, Justice, Knowledge After the Genome, Dr Joanna Bryson asking What is the role of people in an age of intelligent machines? and Professor Danny Dorling, Brexit and the End of the British Empire.
We are currently putting together another exciting programme for 2019-20 and we hope that many of you will join us at these popular events.
Confirmed speakers include; Ann Pettifor, political economist and author; Dr Nicola Rollock, specialist in racial justice in education and the workplace; Professor Tim Lang, Professor of Food Policy at City University London's Centre for Food Policy; and our first speaker for 2019-20, Dr Helen Pankhurst CBE, women's rights activist and author.
Once more we will have a mixture of lunchtime and evening events. All our Grand Challenges lectures are free and are open to students, members of staff and the wider Keele community.
