ILAS welcomes Professor Chris Turney to Keele
We are delighted to welcome Professor Chris Turney; climate change scientist, entrepreneur and writer to the Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Professor Turney is an ARC Australian Laureate Fellow and an internationally recognised Earth scientist and research leader in both climate and environmental change straddling the tropics to the poles. By pioneering new ways of integrating records of past climate and environmental change (spanning centuries to millennia) with climate models, his work focuses on reducing the uncertainties over future projected change and their impact.
Professor Turney is here for January and his academic host is Professor Chris Fogwill, Head of the School of Geography, Geology and Environment. You can read more about their plans for the Fellowship here.
On Tuesday January 23rd Professor Turney will be presenting his lecture
Reimagining the Carbon Century: How Universities Can Help Drive Decarbonisation of the Global Economy in the Twenty-First Century
from 6.00 - 7.00pm in the Old Library Keele Hall.
