Important Contacts

Michelle & Hayley will always answer any questions or put you in touch with someone who can. They are based in the Music/Music Technology Office, located on the ground floor of the Clockhouse building (see map), Room G13 (signposted in the Clockhouse). Office opening times are Monday to Friday 9.00 – 5.00pm. The office is sometimes closed for lunch and meetings which will be posted on the door.  The Office can be contacted on 01782 733295 or 733294 and ext. 33295/4 from any internal telephone.

Music Programme Director and Music Technology Programme Director

The Programmes Director is a lecturer or professor who is in charge of the Music and Music Technology courses. Please ask the office or refer to the student handbook to find out who the current Programmes Directors is.

Check you Keele Email, Pigeonhole and KLE notice boards.

Check you Keele email daily. Important communication from Music / Music Tech is done via your Keele email account only.

We cannot send messages to your private emails (gmail, yahoo, etc).

Pigeonholes for each year group are located in the main corridor leading from the entrance to the Clockhouse Lecture Room. You should check them regularly as important letters and marked work is returned there.

The main Music and Music Tech noticeboard is housed online via the KLE.  This virtual noticeboard contains announcements, templates, studio and practice room booking information, and many other useful documents.  You should refer to it often.

Library -There will be conducted tours of the Music section of the University Library during welcome week. Attendance is considered compulsory; since it give you information vital to all of your music and music technology study at Keele.

Keele Concerts - Special Student Offers -

The Keele Concerts programme will run between October and March. Keele Concerts Society has an enviable reputation for its high quality events staged throughout the year. The concert series presents well-established annual programme of fourteen chamber, early music, jazz and world music concerts, with highly regarded performers and young musicians. Keele Concerts also develops and delivers a range of interactive and educational music workshops with local schools and students at the University.

The Concerts Society is pleased to announce a new partnership with the New Vic Theatre.  The partnership between the New Vic and Keele Concerts Society will continue to present world-class performers both at Keele University and at the theatre-in-the-round, and will promote a mixed programme of internationally acclaimed chamber music. Members of the Keele Concerts series will receive discounted tickets to the additional concerts at the New Vic Theatre.

Keele Concerts Society – Student Card
Keele University Music and Music Technology undergraduate and postgraduate students are able to receive a FREE student card for all 14 Wednesday evening KCS concerts. This card enables you to receive a 75% reduction on the full ticket price meaning you will gain entry for £3.50. Please note that this card can only be used for Keele Concerts Society events. 

Half-price student ticket offer
All students may purchase half-priced tickets (with a Students Union card), this will also enable you to enter a second concert for free (when presenting retained ticket). 
Half-price tickets are £7.

Booking studios and practice rooms 

Practice rooms in the Clockhouse may be booked using the web room booking system on the KLE. Practice rooms and studios have 24 hour access; outside of business hours access is by key fob. Key fobs are issued by the Music and Music Technology office upon receipt of a small refundable deposit. Please see the office staff for more details. Music Technology Studios may be booked using the web room booking system as well. All studio users must abide by the Music Technology Studio Code of Practice published on the Music and Music Technology web pages.

Amplified music and intensive percussion playing are not permitted in the Clockhouse or at Lindsay, except by special arrangement.

Please ensure that you turn up promptly for all room bookings. If you do not turn up within 10 minutes of your booking you will then forfeit your right to the booking. Please cancel any bookings you do not intend to keep to allow access to others.

The Chapel is available for booking through the Chaplaincy Assistant. The Organ and Steinway Grand Piano in the Chapel may be used only after permission has been obtained from the Director of Performance; and are only available to those who will be giving (or accompanying) a Recital. Permission to use the Chamber Organ must be sought from a member of the Music staff.
