Kathryn Jones, Mathematics and Music student
I am enjoying all aspects of this course! There are a great variety of modules that cover all aspects of music, such as performance, composition, analysis, and music history. The knowledge and skill of the lecturers is inspiring and really helps to make the course enjoyable.
There have also been many opportunities to get involved with music outside of academia; I have recently been teaching music in a local school which has been made possible by the university’s links with the wider community. The opportunity for involvement with musical societies within the university has also been enjoyable and rewarding.
I am considering a career in teaching with the hope of becoming a music or mathematics teacher as I am studying a combined honours degree in Mathematics and Music. I have been completely happy at Keele University and feel at home there! The beautiful location with lakes and trees...lots of trees... really provides the perfect atmosphere for study. The social life and culture within the university also provides a friendly and safe environment to live.
Knowing that Keele is equipping me with the skills needed for employment is important to me, as it is preparing me for the future.
