Postgraduate study

We offer four master's courses, and the opportunity to study for a PhD in a wide range of areas.

Students who are considering applying for postgraduate study are encouraged to discuss it with their tutors and with the relevant Programme Director, Dr. Rachel Adcock for MA in English Literatures, Dr. Shalini Sharma for the MRes in Humanities, and Mr Jim Sheard for MA in Creative Writing.

There are a number of postgraduate bursaries and grants available.

The MA English in Literatures offers a structured learning environment, a good grounding in literary theory, and the opportunity to specialise in an area of your choice.

‌The MRes in Humanities (English pathway) offers students the opportunity to produce a substantial piece of independent research and writing, and to undertake wide-ranging, systematic training in research skills and project management. Students will write a dissertation in a specific field or prepare a portfolio of compositions, recital or a media project with a named supervisor.

‌The Keele MA in Creative Writing offers a distinctive and exciting opportunity to develop your creative and professional skills as a writer.
