Biography

In 2015, I decided that it was time for a career change and I came to Keele to study for an MA in Creative Writing. I had spent the previous thirty years working as a history and applied art curator at various museums in England. Following my MA, I returned in 2017 to take on the challenge of a PhD under the supervision of Emma Henderson and Dr Ceri Morgan. I am a prose writer who specialises in place writing. My novel is set on the Isle of Sheppey in the period from the 1950s - present day. My critical work centres on geopoetics and the mudscape of the Thames Estuary.
