Careers and employability for English students
Careers and Employability are based in the library on the left hand side as you come in through the main entrance. Career advisers are not there to impose any agenda on your future plans but to help you to make the most of the possibilities open after graduation in a way that works for you.
We can guide and advise you on topics such as:
- Considering what the careers possibilities are for you after graduation in relation to your degree and other aspects of your life such as personality type and interests
- Working out the pathway to the careers that you are interested in exploring
- Constructing a plan of action for work experience and research
- Making applications and preparing for interviews for post-graduate courses such as publishing or teacher training and employment.
You can see us on drop-in sessions or book an appointment for a longer consultation as well as follow us on Facebook and Twitter. You can also attend any of the careers workshops or employer visits in the central programme as well as those tailored for your discipline delivered by Sarah Longwell in collaboration with Dr Rachel Adcock.
