|Title:||Teaching Fellow and Clinical Physiotherapist|
|Role:||Teaching Fellow and Clinical Physiotherapist|
I am a physiotherapist who originally gained BSc in Sports science from Liverpool John Moores university and licence to practice through a pre-registration MSc at Southampton University.
Since qualifying I gained junior rotation experience in the NHS in Portsmouth and then moved to set up a Physiotherapy service at Southampton Solent University. During this time I worked as part of the 'High performance academy team' to provides services for many sports teams and talented individuals. Outside of this work, I have worked in many other sporting areas including GB boxing and football, academy work with Chelsea, Southampton and most recently at Man City FC.
At Keele University my role is split between 3 days as a teaching fellow within our BSc and MSc Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Science programmes and 2 days a week as Clinical lead for the Keele University Physiotherapy Clinic treating patients. This private clinic is based at the sports centre and provides services for university sports teams, staff, students and external clients. Our aim for this client is to provide a bridge between the classroom and clinical practice for our students.
Part of Benn's role along with Fraser Philp is to help further establish an onsite private physiotherapy clinic within SHAR. Their time is split between teaching and clinical commitments, which also involves facilitating student learning through supervised sport clinic experiences.
