Keele MSc project abroad
University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”
Placements are offered at the Department of Mathematics and Physics at University of Campania (Caserta, near Naples) in collaboration with Dr Mauro Rubino and his colleagues.
Research topics are available in a variety of areas all related to the application of isotopic methodologies to Geography, Geology and the Environment, including (but are not limited to):
- New molecular organic tracers in ice cores to study the carbon cycle and its relationship with past climate change. This project aims to develop a technique to measure the d13C of molecular organic tracers in ice cores from Patriot Hills (West Antarctica) - Chris Fogwill
- Deepening our knowledge of the phosphorus (P) cycle. The objective of this project is to investigate the biogeochemical cycling of this important nutrient (P) by developing measurements of d18O in P-containing organic compounds - Helen Glanville
*Accreditation is dependent on the degree route and modules taken
