The scientific legacy of WW1

The Scientific Legacy of WW1 400px A public outreach 'Scientific Legacy of WW1' event was held on Saturday 15th September in collaboration with Stoke-on-Trent council, some funding provided by the National Lottery, and with input from academic (Drs Jamie Pringle and Glenda Jones) and technical (Luke Hobson) staff and MSc students (Anna-Marie Jones and Kate Hayes) in GGE, with SPCS staff from the Faculty of Natural Sciences also involved.

Approximately 2,000 members of the public attended, with various activities on hand (see www.csistoke.org.uk), including the Deborah II Mark IV tank reproduction which was in Guy Martin's documentary (www.channel4.com/programmes/guy-martins-wwi-tank). It was also covered by BBCStoke (www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06k4tq0).
