Transport and travel

Nissan Leaf The University Travel Plan aims to reduce the number of single occupied car journeys to campus and increase the use of sustainable travel:

Many staff and students cycle from home to Keele University campus. The campus has plenty of cycle racks, and there is plenty of help and support on campus- we even have a free puncture repair kit than you can use! More information on cycling here.

Staff can take advantage of the Cycle2work scheme to hire a bicycle on a long term basis through contributions made directly from their salary. More information about the Cycle2work scheme here.

Car sharing

Keele is launching a new car sharing scheme in March/April 2014. The Keele University Car Share Scheme is a simple, cost effective and environmentally friendly way to travel to and from work. The scheme is designed to suit both regular and occasional car sharers and there is a simple and secure way to find people living in your area. Car sharers benefit from reduced permit and travel costs, and will be able to utilize a network of conveniently located car sharing parking spaces around campus, reserved only for car sharers.

Please read the following information to find out everything you need to know about this scheme: Car Share Info. If you would like to apply for either a 'regular' or 'occasional' car sharing permit, please email Nigel Manning ( to register your interest.
