Energy & Environment

The Estates and Development Directorate is responsible for the management of the campus estate, including buildings and grounds, in line with the University's Environmental Policy.

Implementation of the Environmental and Energy Policy supports the University Sustainability Strategy that is overseen by the Environment and Sustainability Steering Group (ESSG), chaired by the Univesity's Deputy Vice Chanchellor.

In order to manage our activities, we have implemented an accredited Environmental Management System (Acorn Standard-BS 8555) which provides a framework for managing our environmental impact and providing continual improvement.

Environmental Good Practice and FAQs

Keele is currently working with the National Union of Students to run Green Impact. This project allows staff teams to form and develop the sustainability credentials of their own department/ building.

For staff and students at Keele please see the Environmental Good Practice page for tips on how you can reduce your own environmental impact.
