Disabled staff forum
Following consultation in September 2017, a staff disabilities group has been set up in order to provide a forum for discussion of issues that are of relevance to staff. The majority of those who expressed an interest did not want to be involved in meetings, as many did not want to share personal information. Hence, the group primarily operates through a confidential mailing list.
The network exists to help improve equality, diversity and inclusion for people with disabilities. The email list is used to:
- consult staff on relevant issues, such as commitments made to Disability Confident, and
- provide an opportunity for staff to feedback suggestions for improvements
In addition, the network can be used to help disseminate relevant information and it may help provide peer group support where staff are willing to share experiences.
Membership of the network remains confidential.
