On Friday 1 September, at The Wonder Inn, Manchester, Dr James Peacock hosted a book launch event for the essay collection he co-edited with Sam Cohen (University of Missouri), The Clash Takes on the World: Transnational Approaches to the Only Band That Matters (Bloomsbury). James gave a talk about the ideas behind the collection, and Andy Zieleniec, also at Keele, talked about his contribution. The talks were followed by live music, poetry and prose readings, theatre performances and a DJ set, all inspired by The Clash, punk, and the spirit of dissent. The event was open to the general public and was filmed by Keele Media, Communications, and Culture students.
