Through the Climate Change & Sustainability pathway you will develop the skills, understanding and drive to become agents of change to tackle climate change and wider sustainability challenges.

You will engage with international partners to explore climate change and sustainability in different international contexts; lead your own projects to drive real change in your communities; or even be part of educating others to help achieve a more sustainable future.

The Digital Futures pathway offers you the opportunity to become an active contributor to current debates, and engage with cutting-edge research, addressing both the exciting transformational potential and the challenges of disruptive digital transformation across all spheres of life.

Part of a diverse and interdisciplinary pathway community, you will work have opportunities to engage in exciting, impactful collaborative project work in innovative formats. Your work will engage in wide range of real-world scenarios that reflect your own personal interests and will invite you to think how to best use digital tools and assets to promote inclusive, empowering, and sustainable change at local and global levels.

The Enterprise and the Future of Work pathway aims to enhance your awareness of global challenges and the skills and competences needed to develop your professional profile, professional networks and to create and manage opportunities to support your career.

You will explore current debates and the real world of work through collaborations, research, company visits, study trips and professional development planning to foster a range of skills in enterprise, employability and professional development.

Enter the global health pathway and explore wellbeing through an international lens to facilitate a broad understanding of and solutions for global health challenges which transcend international borders. In this pathway you will work towards developing solutions to allow people worldwide to live the live they choose to and improve their quality of life; this will involve engaging with these people and groups to co-design interventions.

This pathway will provide you with skills that go beyond a focus on health and will allow you to develop your ability to work in a team and lead change in society. The knowledge, skills and work experience will complement your core degree and help you to enhance your career opportunities and graduate aspirations, whether global or close to home.

Students on this pathway will embark on a reflective journey drawing upon decolonising, feminist, and ethical perspectives on social justice, forging transformative outputs as agents of change.

You will engage with key societal challenges, for example; Covid - 19 as a social crisis exposing gender and racial inequalities, questioning the asylum and refugee crisis towards concepts of global citizenship and understanding 'domestic' abuse as a public issue.

The pathway will allow you to monitor and critically evaluate policies and human rights treaties, and produce and disseminate digitally fluent, international and sustainable project findings.

This pathway will train students to teach English as a Foreign language and provide them with an additional, globally-recognised English language teaching qualification.

This route leads to the Trinity College London Certificate in TESOL which means that you will get an additional, internationally recognised teaching qualification as well as your Keele degree. It's a lot of fun - you don't need to speak a foreign language and you get to work with Keele's international students as well as students from partner universities in Japan, and with asylum seekers and refugees through our contacts with local charities.

Keele has been running this programme for twenty years and our graduates have used this qualification to work in countries all over the world including Japan, Thailand, Italy, China, Brazil, Spain, and more.

This pathway allows you to explore different cultures across the globe and gain an understanding of intercultural communication. Intercultural communication is a necessary part of today's world, whether in business, research, the media, or everyday life and it has been identified by both the UK Government and employers as a key transferable skill. We look at how language works in society, both within a specific culture and when these cultures interact. For example, you can examine international and intercultural business transactions, or look at how language can impact on diplomacy.

This pathway offers you the chance to explore a new language every year. This will allow you to develop a broad appreciation of different language families and enable you to engage in basic communication whilst also providing a window into diverse cultures around the world.

Please note: British Sign Language is not available on this pathway

This pathway allows you to specialise in a particular language and, when combined with your programme options, will enable you to graduate with an enhanced degree title.

You can either start any of our languages from absolute beginner, or pick up and continue from where you left off earlier. Perhaps you have already done a couple of years of Spanish, or you may have GCSE German or A-Level French - you will be able to start at that level and carry on developing your language skills. For British Sign Language you will be eligible to take the nationally recognised 'Signature' Exams.

If you complete all three years of your undergraduate degree you may be eligible to graduate with an enhanced degree title with the designation of 'with competency / advanced competency in e.g. French'.
