Older, Happier, Creative: Celebrating Creativity in Later Life

A half day event celebrating creativity in later life featuring six short documentary films and interactive theatre performances based on the stories and experiences of the Ages and Stages Theatre Company, a group made up entirely of older members of the community from Stoke-on-Trent. The films produced by academics and students from Keele University document the experiences and narratives of some of the members of the company bringing to life the enormous transformative effect that creative engagement has had on their personal and social lives. The screenings will be interspersed with interactive performances by the company inviting the audience to engage with the stories in the films and to reflect upon the role of creativity in their own lives. Researchers involved in the project, staff and the students involved in the production of the films will also participate in the discussions that are generated.
