Keele Chapel organ
50 years on - Realising the founding Musical Director George Pratt’s plans for the Chapel organ at Keele University
After more than half a century, the Keele Chapel organ will finally be completed.
The organ, which was designed, part-built and installed in Keele Chapel in 1965, has never been completed. For over a decade now, alumni organ enthusiasts have championed the grand instrument so that George Pratt’s plans might be finally realised and the project to do just that was born.
The project will mean that the organ will gain an elaborate screen and its tonal range will be increased with the addition of two extra stops. It will also receive some much needed love and care maintenance too.
