This module introduces students to a range of Social Work theory and methods of practice which are relevant to Social Work across a mix of service user groups. The module contributes to the professional skill base and supports purposeful practice. The module encourages and develops independent and critical thinkers. This module meets the requirements set by the professional and regulatory bodies.
Aims
This module is designed to prepare students for a theoretically informed practice in which they are able to provide clear and reasoned justifications for the methods they employ. Students will be introduced to a range of theories and be given opportunities to explore how theory is integrated with practice. Specifically it aims to help students to:Select appropriate methods of intervention;Develop and plan for purposive practice;Explain and justify their selection of method(s).

1: Essay weighted 100%Essay - 3,000 wordsBased on the case study provided write a 3,000 word plan of intervention informed by social work theories and methods.
