Description for 2024/25

The module aims to consolidate and enhance existing Spanish language skills to enable students to engage in colloquial, academic and professional discussions and exchanges; to understand detailed and complex information reliably, and to recognized different styles and registers used in various contexts. It is also designed to enhance and further develop students' understanding of the Spanish speaking world culture, history, and contemporary issues.

Analyse and summarise long, complex, and specialised factual and literary texts, appreciating distinctions of style, and including specialized articles that do not relate to a specific field: 1,2,3
Write complex letters, reports, or articles with an effective logical structure, including summaries and reviews of professional or literary works: 1,2
Mediate effectively between members of own and other communities, taking account of sociocultural and sociolinguistic differences and communicating finer shares of meaning: 3

School Rules

Admission to the module must be confirmed through completion of a language level self-assessment form.
Students are only permitted to take one Spanish language module per semester.
