Description for 2025/26

The module builds on research knowledge and skills introduced in Year 1 and Year 2. Either individually or in small groups apprentices will conduct a small-scale research study, audit or similar project. They will collate, input, manipulate and analyse their own data using data management software. Tutor led workshops and workplace learning will support independent learning. The module is largely apprentice-led, and each apprentice is supported by supervision from a mentor within the employer’s organisation and a member of staff within the school.

Aims
Through a series of student-facing teaching supported by independent directed study, the students will develop the following attributes to apply for fitness for autonomous practice:
Full skill set for Band 5 scope of practice outlined by the regulatory body; Health and Care Professions Council, (HCPC) and
The scope of the society and college of radiographers (SCoR) within theory transposing into practice supporting the apprentices professional development.
This module links with the RDI-30027 Leadership module, ensuring that the concepts of evidence-based practice, service developments and advancements supported by quality data is thoroughly appreciated.
